1. SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.1 Application

These special terms and conditions, along with the general package tour terms and conditions, apply to journeys defined in the general package tour terms and conditions. The terms and conditions apply to package tours that last more than two days and are primarily purchased for private purposes.

These terms and conditions, signed on 30 June 2009, were agreed upon between the Association of Finnish Travel Agents and the Consumer Ombudsman.

The general package tour terms and conditions are available at www.kuluttajavirasto.fi.

Under the Package Travel Act, a package tour is a pre-arranged travel package that includes transport and accommodation, or either one of these, in addition to essential travel services. The journey must cover a period of more than 24 hours, or include overnight accommodation. A full text version of the Package Travel Act is available at www.finlex.fi.

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to any journeys and services inclusive of short package tours that are not covered by the general package tour terms and conditions.

1.2 Travel reservation and advance payments

Unless otherwise agreed, a single invoice is sent to the customer, payable by the due date stated on the invoice. The travel reservation is binding upon both parties once the customer has received the invoice. The invoice is due, at the latest, 14 days prior to the start of the journey. If there are fewer than 14 days left before departure, the invoice should be paid in full immediately. If the customer does not make the payment by the time it is due, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to cancel the reservation. If the price of the journey is less than €200, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the entire fee immediately. All reservations made online are to be paid in full immediately. If the customer changes the contents of the reservation, a service fee can be charged as a revision fee. Changes that are made less than 14 days prior to the start of the journey may be treated as a new reservation and as a cancellation of the previous one.

The person making the reservation must be aged 18 or over. After the reservation is made, an order confirmation and/or invoice for making the possible advance payment and final payment will be sent to the customer. After you receive the confirmation/invoice, please check that the names, date of departure and other details are correct. If you are unclear about something, please contact our office as soon as possible. Any entrance tickets, similar documents or other possible material, included in the travel package, will be delivered to the place of accommodation, unless otherwise notified or agreed.

1.3 The customer’s right to cancel the reservation due to force majeure

If the reservation is cancelled due to the customer or a member of the group encountering an unexpected and serious incident, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge reasonable compensation to cover the cost of necessary actions caused by the cancellation, such as services paid for in advance that are not covered by Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd’s return policy. In such a case, the customer must provide the salesperson with sufficient proof (such as a medical certificate) stating the reason for the cancellation. We recommend that the customer take out an insurance policy that includes cancellation insurance. Cancellations for the aforementioned reasons must be made in writing and without delay to Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd.

1.4 The right of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd to cancel a reservation due to force majeure

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall also have the right to cancel a journey in the event that the journey in question has not attained the minimum number of participants required by Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd. In such a case, the customer will be informed about the cancellation prior to the start of the journey. Reservations for special order journeys and additional services, such as theatre and concert tickets, are always immediately binding. Possible payments already made by the customer will be refunded to an account specified by the customer after the notice of cancellation has been issued.

1.5 Service fee and office expenses

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd charges a service fee or an invoicing fee of €10 (incl. VAT). In the case of a cancellation, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd may charge €50 (incl. VAT) as office expenses.

1.6 Changes in prices and preliminary information

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to adjust prices, based on changes in exchange rates, taxes or costs of transportation, for example. Discounts are valid during the period indicated, and do not apply to previously booked journeys. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to change the preliminary information and conditions of the agreement prior to the signing of the agreement.

1.7 Services not included in the price of the journey

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer after the journey for any services he/she used that were not included in the price of the service and were not paid for by him/her at the destination.

1.8 Value added tax

All prices listed include value added tax, unless otherwise stated. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd applies the VAT margin scheme for travel agents (ALV Section 80) to selling travel services.

1.9 Insurance

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd recommends that the customer take out an insurance policy against possible accidents, stolen luggage, or other accidents that may affect the customer’s belongings. We recommend that the customer take out a travel insurance policy that includes cancellation insurance in the event that you, a family member or travelling companion becomes seriously ill or dies, and we also recommend that the customer contact his/her insurance company to check how much the basic security covers.

2. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

2.1 BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Unless otherwise agreed, a single invoice is sent to the customer, payable by the due date stated on the invoice. The travel reservation is binding upon both parties, once the customer has paid the invoice. The invoice is due, at the latest, 14 days prior to the start of the journey. If there are fewer than 14 days left until departure, the fee should be paid in full immediately. If the customer does not make the payment by the due date, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd has the right to charge the payment in full immediately. All reservations made online are to be paid in full immediately.

The person making the reservation must be aged 18 or over. After the reservation is made, an order confirmation and/or invoice for making the possible advance payment and final payment will be sent to the customer.

If the customer changes the contents of the reservation, a service fee can be charged as a revision fee. Changes that are made less than 14 days prior to the start of the journey may be treated as a new reservation and as a cancellation of the previous one.

After you receive the confirmation/invoice, please check that the names, date of departure and other details are correct. If you are unclear about something, please contact our office as soon as possible. Any entrance tickets, similar documents or other possible materials included in the travel package will be delivered to the place of accommodation, unless otherwise notified or agreed.

2.2 CANCELLATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Cancellations must always be made in writing (letter or e-mail).

- at the latest 21 days prior to the start of the journey, in which case the possible advance payment will be refunded to the customer, excluding any service fees that may have been charged.

- a possible advance payment and service fee may be charged for cancellations made less than 21 days prior to the start of the journey. If an advance payment has not been charged, cancellations may be subject to a 30% charge of the service price.

- if there are fewer than 14 days before departure, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd may charge the full price of the journey and a possible service fee in the case of a cancellation.

For reservations that are not cancelled, we charge the full price of the journey and €50 as office expenses.

The customer’s right to cancel a reservation due to force majeure

If the customer has already partaken in service(s) reserved for him/her, he/she will not be refunded for the unused part(s) of the service. With regard to cottage and hotel accommodation, the fees paid by the customer will not be refunded if the cancellation, for the aforementioned reasons, is made while using the service in question.

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd has the right to cancel a reservation due to force majeure

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd also has the right to cancel a journey in the event that the journey in question has not reached the minimum number of participants required by Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd. In such a case, the customer will be informed about the cancellation prior to the start of the journey. 2.3 DAMAGE PREVENTION, COMPENSATION AND COMPLAINTS

a. contractual liability

All complaints concerning a service provided as part of the agreement must be addressed to a representative of the facility or a possible guide without delay once their cause has appeared, unless otherwise stated in the special terms and conditions. Any possible claims for compensation must be made, at the latest, within seven (7) days of the end of the journey.

b. liability for damage

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd recommends that the customer take out an insurance policy against possible accidents, stolen luggage, or other accidents that may affect the customer’s belongings.

The customer is liable to compensate the provider of a service that is part of the agreement/order for any damage to the facility’s movables caused during the customer’s stay/use.

With regard to its role as an agent, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd is only liable for mistakes incurred in this capacity.

2.4 OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.1 Application

These terms and conditions apply to company/community customers and consumer customers, with regard to journeys not covered by the general package tour terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are valid unless otherwise stated in a written offer or other document.

Service fees and office expenses

The service fee or invoicing fee charged by Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd is €10 (incl. VAT), unless otherwise stated. In the event of a cancellation, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd may charge €50 (incl. VAT) as office expenses.

Changes in prices and preliminary information

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to adjust prices, based on changes in exchange rates, taxes or costs of transportation, for example. Discounts are valid during the period indicated, and do not apply to previously booked journeys. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to change the preliminary information and conditions of the agreement prior to the signing of the agreement.

Services not included in the price of the journey

Services that are included in the price of the journey are specified in the marketing material and/or on the website of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer after the journey for any services he/she used that were not included in the price of the service and were not paid for by him/her at the destination.

Value added tax

All prices listed include value added tax, unless otherwise stated. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd applies the VAT margin scheme for travel agents (ALV Section 80) in selling travel services.

Insurance

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd recommends that the customer take out an insurance policy against possible accidents, stolen luggage, or other accidents that may affect the customer’s belongings. We recommend that the customer take out a travel insurance policy that includes cancellation insurance in the event that you, a family member or travelling companion becomes seriously ill or dies, and we also recommend that the customer contact his/her insurance company to check how much the basic security covers.

2.5 SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COTTAGE ACCOMMODATION

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to booking and cancelling cottage accommodation, unless otherwise stated below.

Terms of payment

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge 50% of the price of accommodation and the service fee as an advance payment to be remitted by the due date stated in the invoice. The final payment is due, at the latest, 28 days before the start of the journey.

Other terms and conditions

After the payments have been made, the customer will be sent a voucher or other receipt for payment and services, in addition to the contact details and driving directions to the cottage. Arrangements for collecting the key will be made with the facility’s representative. The facility reserves the right to charge a deposit for the key. You can collect the key by showing the voucher or similar receipt.

The vacation property will be available to the customer from 4pm on the day of arrival to 12 noon on the day of departure, unless otherwise agreed. The equipment/services included in the rent are listed in the order confirmation or invoice. The customer is responsible for cleaning the property, unless otherwise agreed. If the property has not been cleaned, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer for the cleaning fee valid at the destination.

The place of accommodation may not be used by more people than agreed upon when booking the accommodation. Bringing pets to the destination must be discussed separately.

All complaints concerning the vacation property must be addressed directly to the owner of the property without delay, once their cause has appeared.

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer for any services he/she used during the reserved service that were not included in the offer or a separate reservation. If the customer decides not to use a service or services he/she has booked, he/she shall not be entitled to compensation for these services.

2.6 SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to booking and cancelling hotel accommodation, unless otherwise stated below.

Other terms and conditions

The customer must inform the hotel directly if he/she will arrive late. If the customer does not arrive, and the room reservation has not been cancelled, the customer shall be charged for both the price of the room and €50 as office expenses (‘No Show’).

The room is available to the customer, at the latest, from 4pm on the day of arrival to 12 noon on the day of departure, unless otherwise agreed.

Rooms for men and women are not sold separately.

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer for any services he/she used during the reserved service that were not included in the offer or a separate reservation. If the customer decides not to use a service or services he/she has booked, he/she shall not be entitled to compensation for these services.

2.7 SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR GUIDED SERVICES

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to guided services.

2.8 SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR GROUP EXCURSIONS

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to booking and cancelling group excursions, unless otherwise stated below.

These special terms and conditions apply to group excursions, unless otherwise agreed in the possible offer or other document.

Reservation

A travel reservation is immediately binding upon both parties, once the reservation has been made orally or in writing. The number of participants and any changes must be reported, at least, 14 days before the excursion. Reductions in the number of participants made after this time will not be taken into account in invoicing. In the case of special orders such as charter cruises and theatre tickets, the booking terms and conditions are case-specific.

Terms of payment

A single invoice will be sent to the group, to be paid by the due date stated on the invoice. Invoicing will be carried out in accordance with the number of participants confirmed in advance, and the invoice will include all services included in the group’s programme. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer afterwards for any services he/she used during the excursion that were not included in the price.

Cancelling a reservation

A reservation can be cancelled, free of charge, 28 days before the excursion is set to start. After this time, cancellations will be charged the full price of the service in question.

Other terms and conditions

Excursion packages include a guided tour in Finnish, the listed entrance fees, meals, coffee services, service fee and value added tax. The prices do not include bus transportation.

The prices are valid for the period of time stated in the marketing material. We reserve the right to adjust the prices for reasons not attributable to Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd. The example prices are calculated as based on groups of, at least, 31 people. Smaller groups shall be priced separately. The driver comes free of charge.

We are not responsible for any damages or expenses to the customer that may result from a cancellation or an interruption. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to adjust the prices if the conditions stated in the offer change. If the customer decides not to use a service or services he/she has booked, he/she shall not be entitled to compensation for these services. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer for any services he/she used during the reserved service that were not included in the reservation.

2.9 SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TECHNICAL VISIT SERVICES

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to booking and cancelling technical visit services, unless otherwise stated below.

These special terms and conditions apply to technical visit services, unless otherwise agreed in the possible offer or other document.

Reservation

A reservation is immediately binding upon both parties once the reservation is made orally or in writing.

Terms of payment

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd’s arrangement fee (technical visit fee) will be invoiced and the payment will be due before the date of the visit. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to cancel any arranged visits if the arrangement fee is not paid by the due date. The customer is liable to pay any expenses in accordance with the cancellation terms and conditions.

Possible other services ordered for the visit may be invoiced in connection with the arrangement fee or after the visit if separately agreed upon.

Cancelling a reservation

A reservation can be cancelled, free of charge, 28 days before the agreed date of the visit. After this time, cancellations will be charged the full price of the service in question.

Other terms and conditions

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to adjust the prices if the conditions stated in the offer change. If the customer decides not to use a service or services he/she has booked, he/she shall not be entitled to compensation for these services. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer for any services he/she used during the reserved service that were not included in the price.

2.10 SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ACCOMMODATION SERVICES AND OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED DURING EVENTS

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to booking and cancelling accommodation services or other services provided during events, unless otherwise stated below.

These special terms and conditions apply to those accommodation packages and corporate, conference, cultural and sports events that are marketed with event specific marketing material which makes reference to Section 2.10 of the special terms and conditions.

Reservation

The reservation shall be binding upon both parties once the customer makes the reservation and Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd sends the customer an order confirmation and/or invoice. A single invoice will be sent to the customer, payable by the due date stated on the invoice.

Reservations must be made by the date stated in the event specific marketing materials. After this time, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd no longer guarantees that the customer can receive the services at the listed prices.

Cancelling a reservation

If the cancellation is made after the date stated in the event specific marketing materials, the customer shall be charged the price of the journey in full and a possible service fee. If a separate date has not been stated, the general cancellation terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall apply.

Other terms and conditions

If the customer decides not to use a service or services he/she has booked, he/she shall not be entitled to compensation for these services. Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer for any services he/she used during the reserved service that were not included in the reservation. The customer must send word if he/she will arrive late. If the customer does not arrive, and the room reservation has not been cancelled, the customer shall be charged for both the price of the room and €50 as office expenses (‘No Show’).

2.11 SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SERVICES MARKETED TO COMPANIES AND COMMUNITIES

The general terms and conditions of Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd apply to booking and cancelling services marketed to companies and communities, unless otherwise stated below.

These special terms and conditions apply to meeting, congress, corporate and similar events and occasions ordered by companies and communities, unless otherwise agreed upon in a possible offer or other document. These special terms and conditions also apply to accommodation services, unless otherwise stated.

Reservation

A reservation is immediately binding upon both parties once the reservation is made orally or in writing.

If the company or community orders services that are paid for by the participant/person using the accommodation or his/her employer/other community, the special terms and conditions set out in Section 2.10 may be applied to these reservations. We can discuss special cancellation terms and conditions with the company/community that orders the services.

Services paid by the company/community and those paid by others must all be reserved by the date stated in the offer. After this time, Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd no longer guarantees that the customer can receive the services listed in the offer at the prices listed.

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to adjust the prices if the number of people or ordered services stated in the offer change.

Terms of payment

Invoicing will be based on the number of participants confirmed in advance. The number of participants and any changes must be informed, at least, 29 days prior to the event. In special orders (such as charter cruises, theatre tickets), the booking terms and conditions are case-specific, unless otherwise stated.

The customer will be invoiced 50–70% of the estimated total amount in advance. This invoice will be due, at the latest, 28 days before the event. The final invoice will be sent after the event.

Cancelling a reservation

The customer can cancel the reservation, free of charge, at any time prior to the date stated in the offer or other document. After this time, cancellations will be charged the full price of the service in question.

Other terms and conditions

If the customer decides not to use a service or services he/she has booked, he/she shall not be entitled to compensation for these services.

Lahden seutu – Lahti Region Ltd shall have the right to charge the customer for any services he/she used during the reserved service that were not included in the reservation. The customer must send word if he/she will arrive late. If the customer does not arrive, and the room reservation has not been cancelled, the customer shall be charged for both the price of the room and €50 as office expenses (‘No Show’).

 


SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PRIVATE ACCOMMODATION

These special terms and conditions apply to private accommodation with regard to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti. The terms and conditions will be binding for both parties (Lahti Region Ltd and the customer) once the customer has made a reservation for accommodation through Lahti Region Ltd. The person making the reservation must be aged 18 or over.

RESERVATION AND PAYMENT

The customer may make a reservation for private accommodation through the Lahti Region Citybreak online system. By making a reservation, the customer approves Lahti Region Ltd’s special terms and conditions for private accommodation and confirms that they have familiarised themselves with the instructions related to making a reservation.

For online reservations, the payment must be made using a credit card or via an online bank. Online payments are transmitted by the Nordic company PayEx Credit AB (556735-5671) in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. PayEx Credit AB will be specified as the recipient of the payment on the bank account statement or credit card invoice and will transmit the payment to Lahti Region Ltd.

For online reservations:

If the reservation is made no later than 42 days before the first night of accommodation, the customer must pay 30 per cent of the full price of accommodation as a reservation fee. The rest of the balance will be invoiced by email, and the customer must pay the invoice by the due date specified on the invoice.

If the reservation is made later than 42 days before the first night of accommodation, the customer must immediately pay the full price of the accommodation using a credit card or via an online bank.

The reservation will be binding once the customer has made a reservation and paid the reservation fee or the full price of the accommodation.

Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to cancel the reservation if the reservation fee has not been paid and/or the remaining balance has not been paid.

The address of the accommodation, as well as information about the keys, will be provided when the reservation is confirmed. After the accommodation period, the keys must be left at the place of accommodation, unless otherwise agreed.

Reservation made by Lahti Region Ltd.:

If the reservation is made no later than 100 days before the first night of accommodation, the customer must pay 10 per cent of the full price of accommodation as a reservation fee. The advance payment is due 3 days after the date of reservation. The rest of the balance will be invoiced by email, and the customer must pay the invoice by the due date specified on the invoice.

If the reservation is made later than 100 days before the first night of accommodation, the customer must immediately pay the full price of the accommodation using a credit card or via an online bank.

If customer wish to receive a paper invoice, they must inform Lahti Region Ltd. when making the reservation. The address must be the official address of the payer. A service fee of 6 € / invoice will be charged for the paper invoice.

Lahti Region Ltd is not liable for failed reservations. The customer must contact Lahti Region Ltd immediately to resolve the issue. Lahti Region Ltd does not guarantee that the accommodation will still be available at this point. If the accommodation is no longer available, any fees charged to the customer will be returned or the customer will be offered alternative accommodation, if possible.

CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES MADE BY THE CUSTOMER

The customer is allowed to cancel the reservation without extra costs until 100 days before the date of arrival. The advance payment will not be refunded. After that, 100 per cent of the full price of the accommodation will be charged as a cancellation fee. In no-show cases, the full price of the accommodation will be charged, in addition to an administrative fee of EUR 25 if the full price of accommodation is less than EUR 200. If the full price of accommodation is EUR 200 or more, the administrative fee will be EUR 50.

Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to Lahti Region Ltd by email or letter. The cancellation will be deemed to be valid once Lahti Region Ltd receives notification of the cancellation. If the customer proves that they have cancelled their reservation in writing and sent their cancellation to the appropriate address, the cancellation will be approved.

Changes to reservations must be made by contacting Lahti Region Ltd.

We recommend that, when making their reservation, the customer takes out travel insurance against illness, accidents, cancellations, interruptions and damaged luggage. The level of cover may vary by company, so the customer should check to ensure that their insurance company provides sufficient cover.

CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES MADE BY LAHTI REGION LTD
AND/OR THE OWNER OF THE PLACE OF ACCOMMODATION

Lahti Region Ltd and/or the owner of the place of accommodation are entitled to cancel the reservation under force majeure circumstances (e.g. a disaster, strike, riot, fire, war or another event beyond their control). The customer will be informed of such a circumstance without delay and any payments made by the customer will be returned in full. The customer is not entitled to any other compensation.

Force majeure circumstances also include situations in which the owner of the place of accommodation decides to cancel the rental booking. In such events, Lahti Region Ltd is entitled to assign alternative accommodation to the customer if the customer agrees to this.

RENTAL PERIOD AND
STAY

The rental period will be shown on the customer’s rental agreement.

The apartment/room will be available for the customer from 2 p.m. on the date of their arrival. The customer must leave the apartment/room no later than 11 a.m. on the last day of the rental period. If the customer wishes to arrive earlier and/or leave later (provided that the apartment/room is available before/after the rental period), the rental period and fee will be calculated as of the previous day and/or the following day, unless otherwise agreed with Lahti Region Ltd.

The customer is responsible for cleaning the apartment/room during and after their stay. The customer must clean the apartment/room and wash the dishes before they leave on the last day of the rental period. If the place of accommodation has not been cleaned in a sufficient manner and needs to be cleaned by the owner after the customer has left, the customer shall be charged a cleaning fee of EUR 100 after their stay.

The number of people (including children) staying at the place of accommodation must not be higher than the number of beds specified in the agreement. The owner of the place of accommodation is entitled to charge the customer an additional fee for each extra person, even if there were no additional beds for them. Pets may be brought only to such places of accommodation in which pets are allowed. The customer must specify any pets when making the reservation. The customer is responsible for picking up any animal droppings in the yard and is liable to the owner for any damage caused to the place of accommodation or any movable property in the place of accommodation. Lahti Region Ltd must be informed of any damage without delay.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in the place of accommodation. If the customer is deemed to have smoked in the place of accommodation, the owner will be entitled to charge the cleaning fees (min. EUR 200) to the customer. Lahti Region Ltd is not liable for any allergy symptoms or other problems experienced by the customer because of smoking or animal fur or dander. Even if the description of the place of accommodation mentions that pets are not allowed, the place is not guaranteed to be suitable for people suffering from allergies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lahti Region Ltd’s responsibilities

Lahti Region Ltd is responsible for preparing the agreement between the customer and the owner of the place of accommodation. The owner of the place of accommodation is responsible for ensuring that the information they provide about it is accurate. Lahti Region Ltd is not responsible for serving as a mediator in any disputes between the parties or for preparing or processing dispute cases. Lahti Region Ltd is not responsible for a violation of the agreement made by the owner of the place of accommodation. In this case, Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to assign similar accommodation to the customer or return any rental payments. The customer is not entitled to any other compensation beyond these measures.

Owner’s responsibilities

The owner of the place of accommodation is responsible for ensuring that the information provided about it is accurate and that the accommodation is available to the customer at the agreed time.

Customer’s responsibilities

The customer agrees to comply with the rules and instructions relating to the accommodation. The customer is liable for any damage they cause to the property and the movable items in the property. The customer will pay such compensation directly to the owner of the place of accommodation. If the customer continues to cause disturbance to people in the same or adjacent property despite having been notified of this by the owner of the place of accommodation or their representative, the owner or their representative

is entitled to terminate the rental agreement with immediate effect. Any costs arising from the measures mentioned above will be charged to the customer.

COMPLAINTS

Any complaints concerning the place of accommodation and its condition must be addressed directly to Lahti Region Ltd without delay by telephoning 0207 281 760. If the customer does not report any defects to Lahti Region Ltd during the rental period, they will not be entitled to any compensation. If satisfactory agreement cannot be reached during the rental period with regard to the subject of the complaint, the customer may file the case with the Consumer Disputes Board. Complaints reported after the rental period will not be considered.

Lahti Region Ltd is not liable for any harm or damages arising from problems caused by natural conditions, animals, unexpected changes in the weather, construction work in adjacent areas, changes made by the owner to the place of accommodation or its equipment that Lahti Region Ltd has not been informed about, or problems caused by a third party (e.g. interruptions to the water or electricity supply or the Internet or television service).

ACCOMMODATION SALES BY LAHTI REGION LTD

All accommodation sales by Lahti Region Ltd are subject to value added tax at the rate of 24 per cent in accordance with Article 80 (Travel agency services) of the Value Added Tax Act. Lahti Region Ltd reserves the right to adjust the prices to remove any errors in the price information before entering into an agreement.
